Thanks to their ability to withstand higher internal pressure, UV-quartz glass lamps produce brighter, more powerful light. Only a burning bulb made of quartz glass (filament 2,650°C, glass 800°C) can endure thermal shocks, such as when a drop of cold water hits the hot bulb, something that can happen if you drive through water with a broken headlight unit.
Philips’ special anti-UV coating technology shields headlights from harmful ultraviolet rays, making their UV-coated quartz glass ideal for any driving condition and helping to extend their lifespan.
